Uniform Policy

Uniforms are mandatory for all students attending Philadelphia Public Schools.

Boys – Khaki pants, solid navy polo shirt, (long sleeve in the winter and short sleeves in the summer, no logo on shirt), and dark shoes or sneakers.

Girls – Khaki skirts, skorts, jumper dresses or pants, solid navy polo shirt, (long sleeves in the winter and short sleeves in the summer, no logo on shirt), and dark shoes.

On gym days, students may wear gym uniforms (Navy blue t-shirt/sweatshirt and navy sweatpants).

Hats or hooded sweatshirts, (in the building)
Oversized shirts
Baggy pants or blue jeans allowed
Flip-flops, sling-back, heely shoes or sandals allowed.  Students must wear shoes/sneakers that safely enclose their feet.

 

REMEMBER:

ATHLETIC PANTS, TIGHTS, DENIM or JEGGINS ARE NOT A PART OF THE UNIFORM CODE (even if under uniform).
Students being out of uniform will cause them to have infractions leading to restrictions from school wide activities.
Grover has Dress Down Days on select Fridays for $1.00 as a school-wide fundraiser to support our student activities.  Students are not required to participate in this activity non-participating students are expected to wear their regular school uniform.  Appropriate attire is still required during Dress Down Days (i.e. No tights, No ripped or jeans with holes, No crop tops).
Grover will sale “Grover Gear” throughout the school year.  Pricing information will be sent home with students about the various “Grover Gear”.
Only official GWJMS hooded sweatshirts and jackets sold by the school are allowed.  Parent may provide solid navy blue sweaters, or long sleeve uniform shirts as an alternative for students that are cold.
Other Garments: All students are provided with lockers in their homeroom.  Students must place their bookbags and coats in the homeroom locker in the morning upon arrival.

NOTE: Students out of uniform:

Will not be permitted to attend PBIS events.
